Our body originates from a single cell and is nurtured by the fundamental elements—Food, Water, Heat, Air, and Pressure. Be aware that the body is merely a shape formed from the five cosmic elements (Panchmahabhuta). Each of these elements possesses its own unique properties:
- Space (Akasa) enables sound.
- Air (Vayu) enables touch.
- Fire (Agni) enables visibility.
- Water (Jala) enables taste.
- Earth (Bhumi) enables smell.
Through these five senses (Sabda, Sparsa, Rupa, Rasa, Gandha), humans become aware of Prakriti (matter). However, the body alone is not the self. The human body is a temporary opportunity to understand the cosmos. Understanding cosmic balance is called wisdom, which remains with the self even after death.
Death is simply the body losing its shape. It reminds us that everything we accumulate in life is temporary, except wisdom.
These five elements (Space, Air, Fire, Water, Earth) must remain in perfect balance within the body. To make the most of the cosmos, the tool (body) must function well. Therefore, be mindful of maintaining good habits regarding Food, Water, Air, Sleep, and Physical activity.
